How much is membership?
There are two memberships for the Tennis Club. Our annual Social Membership costs £20
whilst our annual Team Membership (for those in BUCS teams and mens thirds) costs £30. As with all University of Surrey Sports Clubs, members have to be a student member of Surrey Sports Park (£95/£210) and also require insurance with each Sports Club that they join (£10). Where can I get team kit?
The Team Surrey playing top for racket sports is compulsory for team players and can be bought at the start of the year from the club; shorts and tracksuit is optional but it is encouraged you buy the Team Surrey kit as you are representing the University. Training tops and tracksuit are available to all members and can be bought from the PlayerLayer site from October 2016.
I want to book a court outside of University practice times- how do I go about this?
Courts can be booked online at the Surrey Sports Park website or by ringing Surrey Sports Park reception on 01483 689 111.
I don't have a racket- can I still play?
Of course! You can hire rackets via Surrey Sports Park reception but during Social Tennis, Active Fresher's and Play Sport sessions we will also have rackets on hand. If you are planning on playing regularly throughout the year, it is strongly advised that you purchase a racket as we have limited stock. Where can I get my racket restrung?
Contact a committee. Prices start at £10.
I have experience of tennis coaching/ would like to start coaching. Who do I contact about this?
We may be able to give you volunteer coaching opportunities in return for discounts off coaching qualifications. For more information, please email us and let us know what previous experience you have. We may also be able to offer you discounts off other qualifications such as Tennis Referee course. I have an injury- where can I get physio?
Surrey Sports Park has a Triage Sports Injury Clinic for recent injuries. Sessions are £5 and can be booked via email. Alternatively, students can get discounts at Optimum Fitness Sports Injury Clinic at Surrey Sports Park.
