The tennis committee can be split into three main areas that are all integral to the smooth running of the Tennis Club: Signatories, Social Positions and Team Captains. Find out about their roles below. If you need to contact somebody specifically, please send your email to ussu.tennis@surrey.ac.uk and in the heading state who the email is to addressed to. We aim to answer all emails within 48 hours.
MEET THE COMMITTEE OF 2016/2017
James is in charge of the general running of the club, such as organising the administrational side of it, keeping in contact with the union and coaches, and organising training times and the tennis programme. James along with other committee members will also be coaching the Play Sport beginner sessions for the University.
James played for the Mens 2nd Team last year, then everyone saw his forehand and was quickly dropped.
Those 2 munchkins above are in charge of organising tennis socials, trips and bar crawls. One of the most important aspects of their job is to organise Tennis Tour along with other club committees. They will be responsible for your hangover on a Thursday morning!
Susie was a social member last year and Bernard is returning from placement.
Ellie is in charge of the funding and budget which if you knew Ellie, would realise is a terrible idea. This involves making sure that all membership money is paid (they won't be), getting in touch with possible sponsors (she won't) and ordering team kit (not a chance). If you have any questions about membership costs or funding that we may be able to offer you to assist with Coaching Qualifications, please get in touch with Ellie, or better yet, anybody else.
Ellie played for the Women's 1st Team last year.

TEAM CAPTAINS
Ellie is in charge of picking the best possible squad for the year, even though that likely means leaving herself out. We're hoping for promotion for this team as the Ladies's team has been so close for many years and reached the final of the cup last year. She'll hopefully help organise transport and court bookings for fixtures when not drunk or hungover.
Jasper, is in charge of the Men's 1st team, who are currently in division 1A. Has played competitive tennis from a young age and represents his home county of Gloucestershire. Jasper chooses who plays for the team and organises transport to matches. Some say he's as good at tennis as he is Ballroom.
Jasper played for the Mens 1st Team last year when he wasn't dancing or doing shampoo adverts.
Jordan is in charge of selecting the Men's 2nd Team who are currently in Division 3A, organising transport and choosing teams for each match fixture.
Jordan played as part of the Mens 2nd Team last year.
Edward, though most call him Teddy, is in charge of choosing the Men's 3rd Team and organising matches within the south eastern 4A league in which they'll be looking for a second consecutive promotion.
Ted played as part of the Men's 3rd Team last year.
Pip and Christina are in charge of organising Charity and Fundraising Events. They consult with RAG, other sports committees and different routes of advertising to ensure our charity events are a success.
They were both social members last year.
Flora is in charge of taking the minutes for the committee meetings, recording the box league results and assisting with the general running and administration of the club.
Flora was a social member of the club last year and if you've seen her pick up a tennis racket you'd understand why.
Andy Stevens
Team Fitness
Second Year Student
Andy will be taking over the role of running the fitness sessions every Thursday (basically an excuse not to have to join in). He will teach you the art of making all kinds of gains. He'll help you achieve the perfect body you want to make the most of Rubix's nights out.

Andy played for the Men's Development Squad last year.

Sian (Sh-ah-n) is the first in her position as Communications officer. She will be in charge of our website and facebook as well as our Instagram and Snapchat accounts so make sure you're following both of those: @surreyunitennis and uostennis

Sian was a social member last year.
